ACCOMMODATION AND EXERCISE
Dog visitors live in our home, not in a kennel! Please pack their suitcases with their beds, bedding, bowls, treats and food. Collar, ID tag, lead and harness. Their regular food, as they need to stay on their normal food to avoid stomach upsets. So would ask you to supply enough of their food for the duration of their holiday with us. All details will be discussed at our first meeting.
We have a courtyard and access to a good sized secure rear garden. We also have plenty of walks at the nearby woods, tarka trail, commons, fields and of course, the beach!

HEALTH AND HYGIENE
I cannot insist on my visitors being vaccinated, especially the elderly and unwell. We will need a copy of your dog/s vaccination cards for our file and if you titer test your dog/s, any documentation on this. Fleas and worms, your dogs need to be covered by preventative measures against fleas and worms when they come into board. Please speak to your vet or holistic practitioner with regard to treatments. There are lots of natural remedies and sprays available.
With regard to the KC vaccine which is administered up the nose. This is a live bacteria and can be spread around by the dog for up to 6 weeks and parainfluenza, which is included, for a week. We are not a kennel and don't board any more than 3 dogs at any one time or visit places where there are multiple dogs, so therefore don't insist on the KC vaccine. I have asthma and use an inhaler daily and the bacteria in this vaccine can, and has in the past, affected my chest badly. All other vaccines need to be carried out, if needed, all least 2 weeks before boarding.
I am able to inject and administer any medications needed should any pet have a medical problem. A Medication Permission form will be filled in with the relevant details and discussed fully at the time of booking. And any dietary requirements will be discussed in full and put on your dog's file.
I use a vet approved disinfectant cleaner for worktops and floor surfaces.
